Sankaranarayanan is an “A Graded” artiste of All India Radio, Chennai from Ministry of Broadcasting of Govt of India.
• Special honour for his stupendous service towards the Mridangam art form continuously on Dec 25th 2025 by Karnataka Kalashree Mridangam Maestro Sri A. V Anand ji &Karnataka Kalashree Mridangam Maestro Sri M. Vasudeva Rao ji along with Guru Vandana programme organised during part of 25th anniversary of Srivani Center for Performing Arts, Bengaluru .
• Awarded Prof. Mahalingam Padmanabhan Endowment award from NARADA GANA SABHA, Chennai in 2016-2017.
• “Award for Excellence in Mridangam” from Mridangam Legend Padma Vibhushan Umayalpuram Dr. K. Sivaraman’s Laya Laavanya Fine arts & Foundation, Chennai in the year 2016.
• Awarded “Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar” in 2015 by Sangeet Natak Akademi (under Ministry of Culture Govt Of India)
• Awarded “Mridangam Maestro LAYA MANI GURU KARAIKKUDI Shri. R. MANI Endowment Award” with surprise Mridangam of the great maestro’s which has been handed over by one of his disciple organised by Kartik Fine Arts, Chennai in the year of 2015.
• Received “Best Concert Award” from Music Academy in 2012, 2010.
• Conferred the august Title “Asthana Vidwan” by Kanchi Sri Matam H.H. Sri Jayendara Saraswathi Swamigal in the year of 2012.
• Awarded “Smt.Narayani Ammal Endowment Prize” by Raja Annamalaipuram Bhaktha Jana Sabha, Chennai in the year 2010.
• Awarded “Mridangam Legend Umayalpuram Dr. K. Sivaraman Endowment Award ” by The Indian Fine Arts Society in the year 2007-2008.
• Blessed as “Mridanga Naadhamani” from H.H. Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal of Kanchi Mutt in 1996 when he was very young and fondly call him every time with that name and bless alot. An official citation was given with the same title in a function on May 24th 2008.
• Awarded the Title “Yuva Kala Bharathi” from Legendary Dance artiste Adyar K Lakshmanan organised by Bharat Kalachar in the year Dec 2007.
• Awarded “Best Performer” by Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Sabha in the year 2004-2005.
• Awarded “Best Young Mridangam artiste” from the Golden hands of Sangeetha Kalanidhi D. K Pattammal & Swami Dayananda Saraswathy organised by Narada Gana Sabha in the year 2003-2004.
• “Awarded for Excellence in Mridangam” award with a Gold medal and Mridangam Prize received from the golden hands of the Legendary Mridangam Vidwan Sangeetha Kalanidhi Padmasri Palghat Sri Raghu organised by SAFE (Shanthi Arts foundaNon & Endowment) Chennai in the year 2002.
• Received Shri. Gopinathan Endowment award from The Music Academy, Madras for the years 2000-2001 & 2002-2003.
• Got 1st prize in National level music competition of All India Radio in the year 2000 and awarded direct B grade. Received award from the Golden hands of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr Neduneri Sri Krishnamurthy ji at Ravindra Bharati Auditorium of Vishakapatnam during A.I.R award ceremony and before invited audience programme.
• Awarded “Best Junior Mridangam artiste” with Mridangam Prize received from the Golden hands of Legendary Mridangam Vidwan Sangeetha Kalanidhi Padma Vibhushan Umayalpuram Dr. K. Sivaraman organised by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha in the year 2000.
• Got “Best Senior Mridangam artiste” in music competition with Mridangam Legend late Ramanathapuram C.S. Murugaboopathy’s Endowment award from Mylapore Fine Arts in the year 1999.
• Awarded “Best Junior Mridangam artiste” from the Hari Dharmarajan Endowment by Narada Gana Sabha in the year 1996.
• Secured FIRST PLACE from All India Inter School Classical Instruments Competition in the year 1996.
• Best Junior Mridangam Artiste from Prayojana Trust, Nanganallur in the year 1995.
• Awarded Best Mridangam player for juniors in Music competition in the year 1995 by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, T.Nagar, Chennai.
